Freight Management, Inc. (FMI) began operations in October of 1993 with only 2 employees.
Roger Renfro was one of the original founders of the company and continues today as president of the company. In the beginning, the major focus was trucking, this continued through 1998.
In 1999 FMI was granted a molten metal hauling contract with a local aluminum company. This contract allowed FMI to expand our services to other aluminum companies in the southeast. Transporting liquid aluminum at near 1400 degrees was just an icebreaker to display FMI‘s level of service.
Now we ship over 600 million pounds of molten metals per year.
Currently, our diversified business model includes load transfer/storage, drayage, intermodal service, metal fabrication, a truck maintenance shop, truck washing and cleanout service, tire sales/service/repair, aluminum shredding, roll-off box rental service/repair, construction, carpentry, new buildings, remodeling, painting, demolition and lawn, and ground maintenance.
In addition to this, we provide staffing for overhead cranes, excavating work, and fork truck services. Today we have over 80 employees, 69 trucks, and a fleet of trailers to provide service to our customers.
We now have over 150+ customers and we serve local, regional, national and offshore. We feel our broad experience provides a one-stop-shop for companies with any type of transportation need.
We thrive on solutions and strive to connect and build relationships becoming a part of your success.
